Meeting of Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria Faisal al-Mekdad

On September 24, within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria Faisal al-Mekdad.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Syria commended the centuries-old Armenian-Syrian friendship, greatly emphasizing the role of the Syrian-Armenian community in the relations between the two countries.

Touching upon the Syrian crisis, the Foreign Minister of Armenia underlined that from the very first day of the crisis, Armenia has been in favor of the settlement of the issue through a comprehensive dialogue on the preservation of Syria's unity and sovereignty.

The sides expressed grave concern over the involvement of foreign terrorist fighters from Syria by Azerbaijan during the aggression against Artsakh.
